From science to history to literature, the Spring Festival 2023 (19 - 23 April) features an exciting programme of author talks about a range of topics, with highlights including Athene Donald's Not Just for the Boys.

Professor Emerita in Experimental Physics, Athene Donald will offer a refreshing look at why we need more women in science, looks at how society excludes women from science, what progress has been made, and how more is needed.

As a long-time supporter of the Cambridge Literary Festival, we are delighted to be sponsoring Not Just for the Boys, with head girl Emmi B making the introductions at the event on Saturday 22 April..

Event information and tickets for this talk are available from the CLF here.

To pick out a couple more highlights, Christopher Clark's Fighting for a New World 1848-49 explains how the role of women in society, the end of slavery, the right to work, national independence and the final emancipation of the Jews all became live issues

Searching for Juliet by Sophie Duncan, is an obvious one for literature students, as she explains, in conversation with Preti Taneja (award-winning author of contemporary retelling of King Lear We That Are Young), why Juliet is: "for now, for ever, for everyone."

We'd happily recommend them all - so here is the full festival programme and ticket availabiltiy from The Cambridge Literary Festival.
